Preity Zinta shoots for a song in Dubai

Preity Zinta will be seen in a special song in UTV and Sohail Khan
Production's upcoming film "Main Aur Mrs Khanna", starring Salman Khan
and Kareena Kapoor.

"Preity was especially made to travel to Dubai for a day to shoot for
the song. The production team had to spend a fortune on that single
day’s outdoor shoot as director Prem Soni required a huge open air
theatre for the song which they managed to get in Dubai," said a source.

"When Preity and director Prem Soni were thinking of who could
choreograph the song, they could only think of one person, which was
Farah Khan. Preity was very keen that Farah choreographed the song and
Prem Soni had always wanted to work with her too. When Farah agreed to
do the song both Priety and Prem Soni were very happy," added the
source.

Preity had a 10-day rehersal with Farah Khan before she shot for the
song. She rehearsed for 3 hours every day. She also was on a special
diet and went through strict workout sessions to be in shape for the song.

Man kills himself for Katrina Kaif

Kapoors Cashing Ranbir Kapoor’s Popularity To Revive R.K. Films

Since quite some time there was talk that the celebrated R.K. Films,
founded by the legendary Raj Kapoor, is in the process of being
revived. Reportedly, the Kapoors were keen to start a movie with Ranbir
Kapoor in the principal lead, this signalling the revival of the banner
after a hiatus.

Rishi Kapoor clarifies emphatically, “As or now, there are no such
plans to start a film under the R.K. banner. Yes, we did meet people,
we were toying with the idea of starting a few movies, but we could not
find the right subject to revive the banner. Nothing exciting came up”.

The veteran, who has been an integral part of many an important movie
in his illustrious career, will now be seen in Chintuji. He states, “It
was not titled Chintuju initially. The title was something else. In
fact, it was more of a tongue-twister, hence the makers decided to
change it to Chintuji, which is very flattering (that’s how he is
addressed by his dear ones”.

The veteran actor plays himself in Chintuji. He laughs, “Expect that I
am not as spoilt in real life as I am projected in this movie”. He
enacts the role of an actor who takes to politics when he realizes his
career is fading. He says, “It is an interesting movie and a role that
I had not portrayed ever”.

Shahid: ‘It's early days for me to begin celebrations’

Audiences and critics can't stop raving about Shahid Kapur's
performance in the hit film "Kaminey", but the 28-year-old actor says
doing the dark thriller was a "litmus test" as his well-wishers felt
breaking away from his wildcard boy image may ruin his career.

"The fact is that mass as well as niche audiences have given a thumbs
up to a subject and a genre that were never explored before. This was a
very huge film for me and hence a big litmus test as well. It was such
a huge risk and my fortune could have swung either way. I'm so happy
that it paid off eventually," Shahid told IANS.

Even though he has worked in films across varied genres, the wildcard boy
image seems to have latched on to him, courtesy his recent successes
like "Jab We Met" and "Vivah".

"Even when I was on the verge of signing 'Kaminey', people discouraged
me. Since on paper itself it sounded such a different film, I was
advised that I should follow a conventional route and do more love
stories.

"People felt that I was on a wrong path by signing on something
experimental when I should have rather consolidated my image as a wildcard
boy. I am glad I took a firm stand though because I sincerely believe
that audiences today want a change," he said.

But Shahid isn't turning his back to romantic films and his next will
be "Dil Bole Hadippa", in which he has teamed up with Rani Mukerji.

"Now 'Dil Bole Hadippa' is a complete contrast to 'Kaminey' with a lot
of 'bhangra-shangra'...See, at the end of the day, I do want to do
different kinds of work and find acceptance in all spaces.

"It's just that I'm not willing to restrict myself to a particular
genre, especially in times when change is the order of the day.
Thankfully, audiences have become much more receptive to you being seen
in a different avatar," the actor said.

After the success of Vishal Bharadwaj's "Kaminey", Shahid finds himself
in the big league of actors, but he has his head firmly on his
shoulders.

"I am happy that 'Kaminey' worked for me and I am also aware about the
fact that post the success of the film, there are also lot of
expectations from me. Still, it's early days for me to begin
celebrations.

"There are many more movies that I have to do over a period of time. I
have to continuously prove myself. In a couple of weeks from now, I
have 'Dil Bole Hadippa' coming out; so I'm keeping my fingers crossed,"
he said.

While the Khans - Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman - have been dominating from
the top along with Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan, the success of
"Kaminey" means that both Shahid and Saif Ali Khan, who delivered a
money spinner in "Love Aaj Kal", have also made their mark.

Shahid may not be inside the ring yet but he is knocking the doors at the least.

"Everyone seems to be saying that, but I keep reminding myself that it
has only been six years for me in the industry. Of course, I'm
extremely happy to be even considered a good enough candidate. For
someone who is just 28 years old, I feel very privileged and fortunate
to see such confidence from my audiences as well as the industry," he
said.

Boyle to direct Sonam?

Daddy Anil Kapoor is trying hard to
bring daughter Sonam back on the Bollywood front and has convinced
Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle to direct a film with her.

Sonam has already started work on her sister’s home production, Ayesha
and is hoping that the film will mark her comeback in B-town. But Anil
Kapoor is not taking any chances and was trying hard to convince Danny
Boyle, who he himself worked with in the Oscar winner Slumdog
Millionaire to direct a film with Sonam.

Sources say, “Danny Boyle had already zeroed in on producing an
untitled Anurag Kashyap film and Anil has finally convinced the ace
director to do what he does best, again. The film that stars Sonam
would have the signature Boyle stamp on it but with the usual Bollywood
flavour. Danny was very impressed with Sonam and readily agreed, they
plan on making an official announcement at the London film festival in
October.”

Considering the pace in which Sonam’s career is heading, she might need
all the help possible in establishing herself as an actress in
Bollywood. While Ayesha does show some hope we still are a little
apprehensive on Abhay stealing her thunder. Let’s hope Boyle gives
Sonam the hit she and her dad are so eagerly waiting for, what say?

Salman Khan To Bid For IPL Team

There can't be smoke without fire. It was reported that Salman Khan is
one of the Bollywood actors, who are keen on buying Indian Premier
League (IPL) team. Then it was reported that it was just rumours. But
now, the truth is out. Salman has revealed that he is bidding for IPL
team.

Salman confirmed that he is going to bid for IPL team. He knows the
kind of money it will generate with the involvement of multinational
companies through logos, sponsorships etc. However, he said that he
couldn't afford to buy if the bidding goes up to 400 crores as
rumoured. He added that he didn't have that much of money.

If Salman buys an IPL team, than he has to take on Shahrukh Khan on the
field, who is currently owing Kolkata Knight Riders. Bollywood
celebrities like Preity Zinta , Shilpa Shetty and Juhi Chawla also
co-owns various teams. Other actors rumoured to be showing interest in
bidding for the IPL teams include Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan.

Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani' to release on November 6

Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani' is all set for a threatrical release on November 6.

Santoshi, who has not had box office success for quite some time, has
tried his hand at comedy after his debut movie 'Andaz Apna Apna'.

He is optimistic that audiences will like the film and his lead pair Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif.

"Katrina has tried her hand at comedy for the first time and has done a good job," Santoshi said.

"Ranbir plays Prem in the film. It's a love story and Prem also stands for love," he said.

Santoshi's last film was 'Halla Bol' starring Ajay Devgan.

The filmmaker is working on his new projects 'Jis Lahore Nahin Dekhiya
Woh Jamiya Nahin' an adaptation of Asghar Wajahat's play and 'Kanwal
Pal Singh Gill' on the Khalistan movement.

He said he will announce the project in October and added that he would
start work on 'Jis Lahore...' after the release of 'Ajab Prem...'.

Weirdass Productions, the production
house of renowned stand up comedian Vir Das, organized India’s first
ever Ham-ateur Nights. The basic aim of there “Ham-auteur Nights” is to
give an ideal platform for upcoming talents in the field of comedy
right from stand up to sketch comedy, from musical to slap stick comedy.


The first Ham-ateur Night took place at Blue Frog, Mumbai. Vir Das
says, “India has a huge pool of talent as far stand up comedy is
concerned and I hope to be able to discover and nurture these gifted
individuals, by giving them a launch pad”.


Making the Ham-ateur Night extra special was Imran Khan who graced the

Akshay Kumar in his own words says that the second season of the show
has everything in double, right from gruesomeness till the excitement.
Well, with everything being double, one would also assume that the
